Farmers to feel pain of US dairy subsidies

You know how the script goes.

George W. Bush was a bumbling idiot that the world could not wait to be free of, so the new messiah could take over and fix everything.

Hello, world, how do you feel about President Barack Obama after this news.

The Obama administration has decided to reintroduce export subsidies for the US dairy industry and countries like Australia and New Zealand are already jumping up and down.

What makes it worse was that concerns about possible new subsidies were raised with Mr Obama and he didn’t mention they were coming back in.

This has the very strong potential to harm the economies of primary producer nations like Australia and New Zealand – making our products less competitive in places like Asia and Europe.

Nice work Mr Obama – the “I’m all right Jack” president.
