ABC 774’s Jon Faine and Senator Steve
Fielding on 774 ABC Melbourne today.

774 ABC Melbourne radio presenter Jon Faine tried to attribute a warm spell of weather in Melbourne this weekend to climate change when interviewing Family First senator Steve Fielding this morning. Senator Fielding rejected the suggestion.

The Family First senator also dismissed the ABC presenter’s assertion that Australia had to take “something” (like the Rudd Government’s CPRS) to Copenhagen.

Senator Fielding pointed out that air temperature figures over the last 15 years have been relatively stable while carbon dioxide emissions “have been escalating rapidly upwards”.

Senator Fielding said someone has to explain why global air temperatures haven’t been going up the way they had been predicted to rise. As 774 listeners discovered, the person to do that wasn’t Jon Faine.
