David Flint and Jai Martinkovits in republic debate next week
Jai Martinkovits
David FlintAustralians for Constitutional Monarchy reports that ACM national convenor David Flint and executive director Jai Martinkovits will take part in a debate next Monday 23 April on the topic: “Should the republic debate be put back on the agenda?”
The ACM says:
In what promises to be a lively evening, Professor David Flint and Jai Martinkovits from Australians for Constitutional Monarchy are to debate the newly appointed National Director of the Australian Republican Movement, David Morris, and a prominent republican campaigner, Senator Matt Thistlethwaite.
The invitation for this comes from Senator Thistlewaite and the NSW Labor Party. The ARM has received a generous injection of funds, and has appointed a new National Director – a position vacant for some time – to “ramp up” their campaign.
The subject of the debate is “Should the republic debate be put back on the agenda?”
The Deputy Chair of the Australian Labor Party’s NSW Policy Forum, Daniel Mookhey, will host this controversial debate at Sydney’s historic Tades Hall building. All are invited, but an RSVP is required.
Date: Monday, 23 April 2012
Time: 6pm for 6.30pm
Location: Trades Hall Atrium, 377 Sussex Street, Sydney
RSVP: 02- 9207 2000 or membershipservices@nswalp.com
