The ABC never passes up an opportunity to find proof of “global warming”.

They ignore anecdotal evidence of global cooling, such as the numerous recent examples of record cold weather, but jump all over a couple of bad storms as proof of “global warming.”

Assistance for the people of south-east Queensland

Malcolm Turnbull | November 18 2008

The federal Opposition strongly supports the measures announced today by the Government to provide financial assistance to the people of South East Queensland affected by Sunday’s devastating storms.

The one off payments of $1000 for adults and $400 for each child are appropriate and the Government should stand ready to provide further direct assistance if it is considered necessary.

The activation of the Commonwealth Disaster Plan and the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements and the deployment of ADF personnel to the area is also welcomed and supported by the Opposition. More

“‘That is a disgrace, it is a really serious issue,’ the senator said, noting that Mao was responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of Chinese. (The Australian.)

The Age’s political editor writes of Joyce and his new leadership role: “You’ll probably see less differentiation of Barnaby and more differentiation of the Nationals.”

Grattan reports that Joyce “networks widely inside and outside his party. He has built a relationship with West Australian Nationals leader Brendon Grylls.” More
